Dear DFA:

Please clarify why the Philippine Embassy & Consulate in UAE requires a minimum of 10,000 AED income/salary to sponsor a relative to UAE and have a disclaimer that it was not the Embassy that sets the applicable income threshold, which accordingly, was based on cost-of-living estimates from authoritative financial institutions operating in UAE.

The UAE however, since March 2019, allow a foreign worker to bring and sponsor his family members to UAE as long as he maintains a minimum salary of 4000 AED or 3000 AED + accommodation. This is very less than the 10000 AED threshold of DFA.
