Dear Gerald Coronel,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Apr 11, 2023 03:13:52 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Economics of Biomass Energy.
Response to Request
The biomass resources common in the Philippines are by-products and wastes/residues from agricultural production such as rice husk, livestock manure, sugarcane bagasse, coconut wastes, forestry residues and urban wastes.
However, the Department of Energy has no available data on the annual biomass production of each region in the country. Nonetheless, we recommend you to refer to the data published by the Philippine Statistics Authority accessible through OpenSTAT with links listed below. From these, the annual biomass production/resources may be estimated using the attached main assumptions in resource calculation of biomass resources.

Further, for data information relating to the development of biomass energy, future plans and initiatives, and a roadmap for biomass energy, you may refer to the Philippine Energy Plan (PEP), which was published on the DOE website, (https://www.doe.gov.ph/sites/default/files/pdf/pep/PEP%202022-2040%20Final%20eCopy_20220819.pdf)
Thank you.
