Energy Utilization Intensity for the various sectors

Requested from DOE by R. Apita at 08:19 AM on Oct 28, 2022.
Purpose: We will use the EUI to determine the direction for energy efficiency opportunities in the Philippine
Date of Coverage: 01/01/2020 - 01/01/2021
Tracking no: #DOE-045098005636

Apita 08:19 AM, Oct 28, 2022

Dear DOE,

I would just like to request if you have available data regarding the following:

1. Energy Utilization Intensity (EUI) for the Manufacturing Sector (specifically the Electronics, food and Beverage)

2. EUI for the commercial sector (office & retail)

We would integrate the EUI values in our ESCO Market research to determine which sectors best fits the direction for ESCOs both in the energy and economic perspectives.

Sincerely,

Ralph

Dear Mr. Apita:

Good day!

This is in reference to your Freedom of Information (FOI) request for the Energy Utilization Intensity (EUI) for various sectors.

Based on the Annual Energy Utilization Report submitted by the Designated Establishments (DEs) through the DE online submission portal, the Department of Energy could only extract the annual energy consumption of Food Manufacturing, Beverage Manufacturing, and Office Sectors. However, there were no reports that can be extracted for Electronics Manufacturing and Retail DEs. In addition, the DOE could not also provide the EUI you requested per sub-sector since our DOE DE Online Submission Portal is still at the Beta stage and subject for future enhancement. Kindly see the attached document for your reference.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary Raphael P. M. Lotilla and doephsec@gmail.com. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you about the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Energy Utilization Management Bureau
