Your Request

You asked for The Average Annual Biomass Production in Bulacan.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested.

We wish to inform you that biomass is a renewable energy resource which refers to non-fossilized, biodegradable organic material originating from naturally occurring or cultured plants, animals and microorganisms, including agricultural products, by-products and residues. Further, biomass resources common in the Philippines are by-products and wastes/residues from agricultural production such as rice husk, livestock manure, sugarcane bagasse, coconut wastes, forestry residues and urban wastes.

However, the Department of Energy has no available data on the annual biomass production of each municipality in the Province of Bulacan. 

Nonetheless, we recommend to consult with the Provincial Agricultural Office of Bulacan on the major crop and/or livestock production of said province or he may refer to the data published by the Philippine Statistics Authority accessible through OpenSTAT with links listed below. From these, the annual biomass production/resources may be estimated using the attached main assumptions in resource calculation of biomass resources.
