Greetings,
I am Maica Mae C. Victorino, an Architecture Student from Technological Institute of the Philippines and I'm working on a thesis about a proposed mental health facility. I'm a bit confused about something and I would like to ask the following questions.
-Regarding the accommodations, what will happen to patients who are confined at the facility if they are not yet cured or totally recovered, given that BCC only allows short-term stays of up to three months?
-Which actions will the patient take? and what actions will the facility decide to take?

Your Request
You asked for Basic Comprehensive Center (BCC) (MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY).
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
- Based on the assessment of the patient's attending physician, the patient may be referred to a higher -level facility (i.e. Advanced Comprehensive Canter of National Specialty Center) or to a lower-level facility (Custodial Psychiatric Care Facility)providing long-term psychiatric care. The actiona to ba taken by the patient, legal guardian/authorized representative, and the facility will follow the referral protocolsof the respective referring and receiving facilities.
You may refer to the DOH Administrative Order No. 2012-0012 Rules and Regulations Governing New Classification of Hospitals & Other Health Facilities, for the definition of a "Custodial Care Facility". Likewise, Advanced Comprehensive Center and National Specialty Center for Mental Health are defined in the Resource Stratified Framework for mental health Facilities provided in the DOH Department Order No. 2021-0001 Designation of Selected DOH Hospitals as Specialty Centers.
