Your Request

You asked for spaces or facilities need in occupational and physical therapist rehabilitation center.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. 

Currently, stand-alone therapy centers are not included in the list of health facilities being regulated by the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB) of the Department of Health and there are no design guidelines as of date which articulates the required spaces for stand-alone therapy centers.

For the hospital-based provision of these services, you may refer to the Administrative Order No. 2016-0042 Guidelines in the Application of DOH Permit to Construct for the minimum licensing space requirements in hospitals providing these services. The said issuance is publicly disseminated and is accessible at the HFSRB website at https://hfsrb.doh.gov.ph/581-2/

Likewise, the Resource Stratified Framework for Physical Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) provided in the Department Order No. 2021-0001 Designation of Selected DOH hospitals as Specialty Centers provides the fixed assets (spaces and equipment) needed to deliver the required PRM services per facility type.
