Dear Hope Lizey,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Nov 27, 2023 01:00:43 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Number of Eye Patients in Region 2.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
Below are the responses on Space requirements for eye care center from the DOH Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB):
The Philippine Health Facility Development Plan 2020-2040 lays out the development of priority health facilities in the country towards the realization of the provisions in the Universal Health Care Act. The development of hospitals catering to priority specialty care such as eye care is included in the plan. The direction of the Department of Health is to establish Specialty Centers by designating existing DOH hospitals across the country to be capacitated in specialty care. This strategy would enable the government to maximize its limited resources while ensuring the provision of specialty care services to all.
The Department Order (DO) No. 2021-0001 and its amendment services as the operational document for the development of DOH Specialty Centers including Eye Care. It also contains the seven Resource Stratified Frameworks (RSF) for each of the seventeen (17) priority specialty care, including eye care. This framework serves as a planning guide that articulates the base facilities, catchment areas, services, infrastructure, equipment, human resources and other components to be provided in health facilities in order to provide specialty care across the continuum of care. Lastly, this issuance provides the list of the designated DOH Eye Specialty Centers in Region 2. You may access the said issuance through this link: http://bit.ly/DO20210001-SpecialtyCenters
Please note that we are only able to provide some of the information you have requested for as we are still awaiting for the data from Cagayan Valley Medical Center. We shall send you the data as soon as we receive it.
