January 11, 2021 Dear Kenneth Diamzon, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jan 02, 2021 09:04:17 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for The Antibiotic Consumption of Philippines. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have [some of]* the information you have requested. With regard to the requested data on the consumption of antibiotics from 2007-2020, please be informed that we do not have patient-level data yet on antimicrobial consumption. In the previous years, in the interest of being able to participate in the WHO Western Pacific Regional Antimicrobial Consumption Surveillance System (WPRACSS), we have used the 2017-2019 market sales and government procurement data of antimicrobials as proxy data of consumption/utilization of these commodities. The 2017-2019 sales data were lifted/based on the IQVIA market data because we had active subscriptions with them during that time. Kindly be apprised that the development of a unified system for monitoring of antimicrobial consumption nationwide is in the pipeline of the projects planned by the DOH Program to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) (with support from international development partners) but allow me to reiterate that at the moment, we do not have patient-level data of antimicrobial consumption (especially those as early as 2007). We only have sales data which can be used as proxy but this has to be requested for clearance from IQVIA. Should you have further inquiries, contact the DOH Pharmaceutical Division at telephone numbers (02) 8651-7800 local 2412 and 2413 For further assistance you may review the FAQ section of the eFOI site: https://pcoomaster02282018153000-dot-efoi-ph.appspot.com/help.
