Dear Daryl Martin Rivera,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Oct 19, 2023 11:07:41 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for How to calculate the number for morgue and bed in a hospital.

Response to Request:

      ITEM No. 1:
-How to calculate a number for morgue refrigerator and autopsy and tissue processing room needed in a hospital
   - Kindly see attached file provided by the HEALTH FACILITIES AND SERVICES REGULATORY BUREAU.

ITEM No. 2:

How to calculate the number of beds needed in a hospital per population, average length of stay, and prevalence of diseases

- The DOH uses bed-to-population ratio as criteria whether a hospital could increase the number of their beds or not. The computation for bed-to-population ratio is by dividing the total number of Authorized Bed Capacity (ABC) vs the total number of population in a given area(e.g. per province or region).
