Dear Joanna Marie Ferrer,

Thank you for your request dated Oct 19, 2023 08:09:16 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Statistics of Mental Health Professionals.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved.

Please refer to the Mental Health Program posted in the DOH website at https://doh.gov.ph/national-mental-health-program for an overview of the services we provide and some materials we readily share. Rest assured that the Mental Health Division looks into these conditions in compliance with RA11036, otherwise known as the Mental Health Act, which encompasses mental, neurological and substance use (MNS) disorders.

The Mental Health Division has yet to establish the Mental Health Information System that integrates and consolidates mental health related data including cases on mental health conditions.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the up-to-date statistics as we are yet to establish a mental health information system (MHIS) but we are also pleased to share with you the attached National Survey for Mental Health and Well-being

We would like to share with you the attached latest Mental Health Atlas 2020 as reference. This is our country profile at https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/mental-health-atlas-2017-country-profile-philippines

May we refer you to the DOH HRH Statistics through the PowerBI dashboard http://bit.ly/HRHStat-2022 and National Database of Selected Human Resources for Health at https://ndhrhis.doh.gov.ph/, for HRH information from the years 2016 to June 2023. The said platform readily provides data on the distribution of selected health professionals reporting in private and public health facilities in the health sector.

We can only provide some information that you have requested as we do not have this specific data on Psychologist providing Mental Health Services per region (Nationwide) and Number of Psychometricians providing Mental Health Services per region (Nationwide). For the number of Psychologist and Psychometricians, we ask that you coordinate with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for this request

Should you have further inquiries on the matter, kindly direct your concern to the DOH Mental Health Division at telephone number: (02) 8651-7800 local 1733 or email at the Mental Health Division email (dpcbscd@doh.gov.ph).

Kindly accomplish the FOI Request Feedback form at the link https://bit.ly/DOHFOIFeedbackForm

Thank you
