May we share with you the attached available data on the physician-to-population ratio for CY 2022

a Philippine Statistics Authority (2019). Updated Projected Mid-Year Population for the Philippines Based on the 2015 POPCEN Results: 2020 - 2025. (see attached file on Cities and Municipalities Population Projections)

b. Consolidated data from the following sources:

National Database on Human Resources for Health Information System (NDHRHIS) CY 2022

Field Health Services Information System (FHSIS) CY 2021

National Health Workforce Support System (NHWSS) Databases CY 2022

Due to limitations in disaggregation of HRH data, the consolidated number of MD per region does not include data from other National Government Agencies and other institutions such as clinics and privately owned health facilities.


c Based on a study by the WHO, 14.3 physicians per 10,000 population are needed to achieve SDG.

In line with this, we regret to inform you that our bureau currently has no readily available data or final report for the 2023 physician-to-population ratio, as this data is yet to be computed and reported by the end of the year.
