Dear Eunice Castro,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 15, 2023 11:32:36 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Design Guidelines and Space Requirements.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved.

As part of the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan, priority specialty care were identified and DOH hospitals were assessed in order to designate willing and capable DOH Hospitals to be designated Specialty Centers. Per Department Order No. 2021-0001 Designation of Selected DOH Hospitals as Specialty Centers (bit.ly/DO20210001-SpecialtyCenters), the designated national Specialty Center for Brain and Spine Care is the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center located in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The DO 2021-0001 mentioned provides the Resource Stratified Framework (RSF)s that were crafted for each of the priority specialty care. These frameworks provide guidance on the recommended services, catchment population, fixed assets, and human resources per level of care. The RSF for Brain and Spine Care is presented in Annex G. You may use this as reference in designing for the Specialty Centers.

Thank you
