Good day!
I'd like to request for a 2023 data of suicide-related attempts and self-harm instances from your good office. I am a clinical psychology graduate student from Ateneo de Davao University who's currently conducting a research on parenting styles and suicide ideation amongst the youth. The data that will be provided will greatly help me in moving forward for my study.

Your FOI request is approved.
Please refer to the Mental Health Program at https://doh.gov.ph/national-mental-health-program for an overview of the services we provide and some materials we readily share. Rest assured that the Specialty Care Division looks into these conditions in compliance with RA11036, otherwise known as the Mental Health Act, which encompasses mental, neurological and substance use (MNS) disorders.
This is in response to your eFOI request regarding the request for the suicide data
Sharing with you the slide presentation, particularly on suicide (attached). We are working on standardizing suicide surveillance because as of the moment, we have various sources for suicide data (e.g, PSA, YAFS, etc.). We will develop a national surveillance system for suicide attempts and self harm in the future.
