1) Training Programs and Spaces/facilities for Mental Health professionals and workers
2) Training programs and Spaces /facilities that support the reintegration phase of recovered patients back to the community

Your Request

You asked for Training Programs and Spaces for Mental Health.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. 

In response, the DOH Disease Prevention and Control Bureau - Mental Health Division has the following trainings:

a. Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP)
This training consists of interventions for the prevention and management of priority MNS (mental, neurologic and substance use) disorders in non-specialized healthcare settings. These priority conditions include depression, psychoses, self-harm/suicide, epilepsy, dementia, disorders due to substance use, and mental and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. The target user group is non-specialized healthcare providers working at first- and second-level healthcare facilities.

b. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Training - Face to face and Online Training (DOH Academy eLearning Platform)
This training is designed to provide basic understanding on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and the provision of services 

c.  WHO Quality Rights - Online Training -

This training is to build capacity among mental health practitioners, people with psychosocial, intellectual, and cognitive disabilities, people using mental health services, families, care partners and other supporters, nongovernmental organizations, organizations of persons with disabilities, and others on how to implement a human rights and recovery approach in the area of mental health in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and other international human rights standards. 

d. Tulong, Alalay at Gabay (TAG) - Face to face and Online Training  (DOH Academy eLearning Platform)
It is a community-based mental health education approach as a prevention, early intervention, and crisis intermediation tool in the Philippines.
