Good day!
Reading your recent report I noticed your wording on deaths.
"Most of the fatal reports have not yet completed their vaccination course."
1. Does this mean that all of the deaths are partial or fully vaccinated?
2. In a previous request you stated that your department is not recording the vaccination status of new cases/deaths. If you have data now, please provide them.
3. Please provide the date of death for the new deaths.
4. Based on international studies a passive recording system as yours has an underreporting rate of 10 to 100. How do you account for this?

Why does it take so long, while it was very fast to approve the bivalent shots?

Dear Kai Doering,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Jul 21, 2023 08:03:25 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Philippines FJune 2023 Pharmacovigilance Report on Covid-19 Vaccination.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
Please see responses below from FDA:
1. Does this mean that all of the deaths are partial or fully
vaccinated?
- In reference to our published report posted in the FDA website, it was stated that majority of the COVID-19 death cases are mostly partially vaccinated. The report does not state that all of the reported deaths due to confirmed COVID-19 are partially or fully vaccinated.
2. In a previous request you stated that your department
is not recording the vaccination status of new
cases/deaths. If you have data now, please provide them.
- Vaccination status is not a mandatory information when
reporting, thus, this data is still not available.
3. Please provide the date of death for the new deaths.
- There are no reports of new deaths due to COVID-19
for the months of June and July.
4. Based on international studies a passive recording
system as yours has an underreporting rate of 10 to 100.
How do you account for this?
- Please be informed that underreporting is a common
phenomenon not only in the Philippines but worldwide.
We address this through different pharmacovigilance
advocacies to increase reporting.
Thank you
