Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
The Philippine Health Facility Development Plan 2020-2040 details the development of priority health facilities across the continuum of care towards the realization of the provisions in the Universal Health Care Act including the establishment of Specialty Centers in DOH hospitals. These Specialty Centers provide services beyond the capability of Level 3 general hospitals such as Cancer Care Centers.
The Department Order No. 2021-0001 which is the operational document for the establishment of specialty centers, details the list of DOH Hospitals designated as Cancer Care Centers per region. Furthermore, the issuance also includes the Resource Stratified Framework for Cancer Care Centers, which describes specialty care services, human resources, equipment and infrastructure requirements at each facility level across the healthcare continuum.
