June 7, 2023 Dear Jessica Rey, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated May 29, 2023 01:48:54 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for Health facility inspection data. Response to your request Please be informed that The Hospital Safety Index (HSI) Tool developed in 2016 that is used to determine the level of safety and preparedness of the hospital in terms of structural, non-structural, and emergency and disaster management functions. However, please note that this does not replace an in-depth vulnerability assessment of the hospital but helps authorities to determine quickly what actions and measures can improve safety and what capacity the hospital has to respond to. In addition, the safety index results would vary from time to time as the hospitals are mandated to conduct annual assessments and address their gaps in order to be better prepared for the occurrence of emergencies and disasters. Currently, The Health Emergency Management Bureau (HEMB)'s data on the results of the hospital assessment using the HSI Tool is due for updating this year as the monitoring was halted due to COVID-19 Pandemic. Moreover, the data that is being monitored by the bureau is only limited to DOH Hospitals and does not include the LGU-owned, Private Hospitals and State University Hospitals among others. In accordance with the Data Privacy Act, the sensitivity of the data being requested and, HSI results being NOT PUBLICLY AVAILABLE, consent to provide this data is needed from the hospitals. For further queries, Ms. Mara Blaise C. Carillo of the Preparedness Division can be reached at (02) 8651-7800 local 2204. Thank you.
