Thank you for your request dated Nov 21, 2023 02:20:56 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Antibiotic Resistance on Respiratory Tract Infection.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved.

At present, the Epidemiological Modeling and Research Division (EMRD) of the Epidemiology Bureau can only provide national data since the subnational data are still under embargo. However, we can provide Global and Philippine data (latest available is 2019) generated from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study. Also, we don't have any data on Antibiotic Resistance in the Philippines.

Please see attached file. For more information about the GBD study and their publicly available data, you may access their site at https://www.healthdata.org.

Please be informed that the Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Program
(ARSP), under the DOH Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), has been
monitoring the resistance patterns of select pathogens of public health importance since 1988.
The surveillance collects culture and antimicrobial susceptibility data from its 24 sentinel sites and 2 gonorrhaea surveillance sites. The program annually publishes a data summary report accessible at https://arsp.com.ph/publications/.
