Your Request

Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
Below are the responses to your requests
A. Prisoners and Uniformed Personnel's Knowledge on COVID-19 Vaccine
Stated in the Administrative Order No. 2022-0005 entitled "Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan (NDVP) for COVID-19 Vaccines" released by the Department of Health,
V. G. The vaccination of COVID-19 vaccines shall be voluntary in nature and shall not be made mandatory for all Filipino citizens
In addition, pursuant to the abovementioned policy, vaccine recipients follow monitoring pre- and post-vaccination for any possible adverse effects following immunizations (AEFI). In this way, we are ensured of proper assessment and management by health care professionals prior to and receiving vaccines for all the vaccine recipients.
B. Philhealth on list of Adverse Effect on Special Interest
Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act), the Department of Health (DOH) issued an official list of diseases and health events of public concern for mandatory reporting through institutionalized public health, disease surveillance and response systems. Adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) are listed as an immediately notifiable event (Category I) and are being monitored through the Philippine Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (PIDSR) system for the aforementioned vaccines.
