Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Aug 25, 2022 01:35:31 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Supply and Demand of Glycogen Powder.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have  the information you have requested. 

Please be informed that the FDA do not have the requested data/information and we do not monitor the supply and demand of these raw materials as the services  we provide are issuance of market authorization/approvals of finished products. Thus, we can only provide information or list of FDA registered products containing the aforementioned ingredients.

Based on our initial assessment of the two raw materials/ingredients, Glycogen and Keratin are used for food as supplements. As of date, our current records show that there are no registered Glycogen Powder and Keratin power or any food products containing these ingredients except for one (1) registered food supplement which contains "Keratin".

If Keratin will be used as a raw material for hair care products, the FDA no longer regulate raw materials as per FDA Circular No. 2013-015 with the subject "Deregulation of Bulk Chemicals used as Raw materials in Cosmetic Products and Household Products considered as Urban Hazardous Substances"
