Dear Ana Veronica Concepcion,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Sep 02, 2023 03:18:15 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Mental Health Statistics Philippines.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
Please refer to the Mental Health Program posted in the DOH website at https://doh.gov.ph/national-mental-health-program for an overview of the services we provide and some materials we readily share. Rest assured that the Mental Health Division looks into these conditions in compliance with RA11036, otherwise known as the Mental Health Act, which encompasses mental, neurological and substance use (MNS) disorders.
The Mental Health Division has yet to establish the Mental Health Information System that integrates and consolidates mental health related data including cases on mental health conditions.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the up-to-date statistics as we are yet to establish a mental health information system (MHIS) but we are also pleased to share with you the attached National Survey for Mental Health and Well-being
We would like to share with you the attached latest Mental Health Atlas 2020 as reference. This is our country profile at https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/mental-health-atlas-2017-country-profile-philippines
The WHO Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) at https://www.who.int/teams/mental-health-and-substance-use/treatment-care/mental-health-gap-action-programme, which focuses on services for mental, neurological and substance use disorders specifically in the 9 priority conditions: depression, psychosis, epilepsy/seizures, developmental disorders, behavioral disorders, dementia, alcohol use, drug use and self-harm.
Visit the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB) AT https://hfsrb.doh.gov.ph/list-of-licensed-health-facilities/ for the list of the DOH accredited health facilities including Psychiatric Care facility for mental health patients
We can only provide some information that you have requested as we have yet to have number of mental health cases specific for each cities in the Philippines. In addition, we do not have data on healthcare services per cities in the Philippines. We ask that you coordinate with a specific LGU as your main study for your thesis.
Should you have further inquiries on the matter, kindly direct your concern to the DOH Mental Health Division at telephone number: (02) 8651-7800 local 1733 or email at the Mental Health Division email (dpcbscd@doh.gov.ph).
