Dear John Mark Rengel,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Dec 02, 2023 12:33:22 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for Organ Transplantation Complex Feasibility in the Philippines.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
As made clear in the interview last November 30, 2023, PhilNOS does not collect data on the number of registered tissue and bone donors including the updated list of transplant facilities. You are advised to coordinate with the appropriate bureaus/agencies to get accurate data, such as the Health Facility and Services Regulatory Bureau, Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines, and the Bone Bank of the Philippine General Hospital. Similarly, you may coordinate directly with the organ procurement organizations through official websites to get the contact information.
In addition, DOH Administrative Order No. 2010-0019 contains the organizational structure of the Philippine Network for Organ Sharing and Department Personnel Order No. 2022-0127 constitutes the composition of the National Transplant Ethics Committee. Online resources provide information about the laws in the Philippines supporting organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
Thank you
Your right to request a review
If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Central Appeals and Review Committee, at foi@doh.gov.ph. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.
If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
