Hi! I would like to request for any government issuances from DOH or DBM or Civil Service Commission regarding the prescribed entry level plantilla position for a medical technologist in a government facility in 2023. I was told that Medical Technologist I is no longer the entry level position for medical technologist in a government facility, rather it should be Medical Technologist II already. However, I need a copy of such mandate/issuance to serve as a reference for our human resource management office. Thank you!

Just to add information to my inquiry, I am specifically asking for issuances that could apply to 3rd-class municipalities that is currently hiring Medical Technologist. The Civil Service Commission previously asked the Municipality to correct the plantilla positions of the existing nurses and midwives from Nurse I and Midwife I to Nurse II and Midwife II. I want to know if this is also true for Medical Technologists, and I need a supporting document to present to the Human Resource Management Office. Thank you very much!

Hi! To clarify, I am a permanent Medical Technologist in a Rural Health Unit under a third class municipality. My current position/plantilla item is Medical Technologist I. Over a year ago, the Civil Service Commission ordered our LGU to promote all of our midwives and nurses to Midwife II and Nurse II, respectively, because apparently Midwife I and Nurse I plantilla positions should no longer be the entry level positions under government health facilities.
Now, I am wondering if this is also the case for Medical Technologists in government facilities. Should I also be promoted to Medical Technologist II? If yes, what I need is any relevant supporting document like a memorandum, joint circular, etc. regarding this matter so that I can show it to our Human Resources Management Office for proper action.
