June 16, 2023 Dear Mary Grace Lacida, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated May 30, 2023 03:28:26 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for Face Mask Microplastics. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. Please be advised that the FDA CDRRHR does not have any information on the studies on how facemasks protect viruses, efficacy of using facemasks against viruses, or the long term effects of wearing facemasks. Please coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) regarding these research studies on face masks.
