We are graduating students of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. We're currently taking our thesis and our topic is on the Effectiveness of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012. We would like to request the Department of Justice as head of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking for the data on the number of human trafficking cases in the Philippines in the span of 2012-2018.

The information you seek is already available online. Your request cannot therefore be counted as a valid FOI request. In any event, you may retrieve your requested information from this url:

Attached herewith, for your reference, is the table providing for the DOJ Prosecution Statistics.
We likewise hasten to add that although citizens are afforded the right to information and, pursuant thereto, are entitled to "access to official records," the Constitution does not accord them a right to compel custodians of official records to prepare lists, abstracts, summaries and the like in their desire to acquire information on matters of public concern. (Valmonte v. Belmonte, G.R. No. 74930 February 13, 1989)
