Sir/Ma'am, I would just like to request a soft copy of the DOJ's legal opinion, which was requested by DBM to your Department, with regards to the interpretations of the provisions of Item III of Congressional Joint Resolution No. 1, Series 2018, dealing on the suspension of indexation of the Military & Uniformed Personnel's (MUP) pension relative to the current base pay of those in the active service for FY 2018.

Your Request

You requested for a copy of the Department’s Legal Opinion for the entitlement to the indexation of the Military and Uniformed Personnel’s pension to the base pay of those in active series pursuant to Congress Joint Resolution (JR) Number 1 series of 2018.


Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. Enclosed is a copy of DoJ Legal Opinion Number 25 series of 2019. Nothing herein shall be construed as an endorsement of the use, or purpose for use, of the foregoing document.
