Dear Maria Katreena Saguid,

Good day!

This is to acknowledge receipt of your query through the FOI portal dated 26 October 2017, inquiring on the number of filed, pending, and resolved annulment cases by region from 2005-2016.

However, the Department is constrained to deny your query pursuant to the Memorandum of the Executive Secretary dated 24 November 2017, relative to the Inventory of Exceptions to Executive Order No. 2 (S. 2016).

Under item 9 (d) of the said memorandum, requests for information involving lists, abstracts, or summaries of information are not covered by the freedom of information when such lists, abstracts, or summaries are not part of duties of the government office requested.

It can be observed that cases for annulment of marriage are purely civil in nature and it does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Department. Hence, there are no available information within the Department regarding this matter.

We hope we have adequately addressed your concern.

Truly yours,

ATTY. ERICKSON H. BALMES
Undersecretary
