Hi ! I would like to request the following data per region in the Philippines needed in my study about "Philippine Women Empowerment: Measuring Regional Women's Peace and Security Index in the Philippines":
1. Legal Discrimination - aggregate score for laws and regulations that limit women's ability to participate in society or that differentiate between men and women
2. Son Bias - ratio of the number of boys born to the number of girls born exceeds the natural demographic rate of 1.05
3. Discriminatory Norms-percentage of gender discrimination  (lack of support for women engaging in paid work

You requested for data on legal discrimination, son bias, and discriminatory norms which you intend to use in your study entitled “Philippine Women Empowerment: Measuring Regional Women’s Peace and Security Index in the Philippines.”


Response to your request

Unfortunately, your request cannot be granted as its subject falls outside the mandate of this Department. Moreover, the data analysis required for your request on data on legal discrimination appear to fall outside the coverage of EO No. 2 (s. 2016). In any event, for data on women, published studies related or similar to your study, or other information on women, please contact the Philippine Commission on Women at (02) 8735 1654. 


Your right to request a review
