Thank you for your request dated 13 January 2020 at 05:00 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You requested for data on legal discrimination, son bias, and discriminatory norms which you intend to use in your study entitled “Philippine Women Empowerment: Measuring Regional Women’s Peace and Security Index in the Philippines.” Response to your request Unfortunately, your request cannot be granted as its subject falls outside the mandate of this Department. Moreover, the data analysis required for your request on data on legal discrimination appear to fall outside the coverage of EO No. 2 (s. 2016). In any event, for data on women, published studies related or similar to your study, or other information on women, please contact the Philippine Commission on Women at (02) 8735 1654. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Hon. Menardo I. Guevarra, Secretary, Department of Justice, Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila.
