Dear Emmanuel,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Mar 23, 2022 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Leila dilemma Case.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested because the case of Sen. De Lima is under the jurisdiction of the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC). The DOJ is under the Executive branch of government which handles the prosecution of cases. On the other hand, courts such as the Muntinlupa City RTC are under the Judiciary. Unfortunately, the FOI program only operates by virtue of an Executive Order by the President so it only covers agencies under the Executive branch.
