Dear OCA,

I am a graduate student taking up MPA in UP-NCPAG. Our paper for this semester concerns our assessment of the war on drugs conducted by the past administration.
What is the acquittal and conviction rate on drugs cases in our country, outside of plea bargaining convictions, during the term of PRRD? May we be allowed to secure a copy of your data or study? We will use it for purely academic purposes in our MPA class.
Thank you very much.

Atty. CARLO JOLETTE S. FAJARDO
Chief Regional Adjudicator

Dear Requesting Party,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated May 10, 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for The acquittal and conviction rate on drugs cases in our country.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested because courts and the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) is not under the jurisdiction of the DOJ. Courts are under the Judiciary while the DOJ is under the Executive branch of government which mainly handles the prosecution of criminal cases.

Thank you,

FOI Receiving Officer
