I will be using the data for my thesis paper entitled "BRAILLE AND BEYOND: A PROPOSED MULTISENSORY MUSEUM COMPLEX FOR CULTURAL HISTORY AND ARTS".
ABSTRACT
This thesis explores the innovative concept of a multisensory museum complex that goes beyond the traditional focus on sight, aiming to engage visitors through a rich tapestry of sensory experiences. Recognizing the importance of inclusivity and accessibility, the proposed complex transcends visual boundaries by incorporating tactile, auditory, olfactory, and gustatory elements alongside visual displays. The study investigates the potential impact of such a multisensory approach on enhancing the appreciation and understanding of cultural history and arts for individuals with diverse sensory abilities. By integrating tactile sculptures, interactive audio guides, aromatic installations, and tasteful experiences, the complex seeks to cater to a broad spectrum of visitors. The research examines the challenges and opportunities associated with this expanded multisensory design, emphasizing the need for a holistic and collaborative approach among accessibility experts, curators, artists, and designers. This thesis advocates for a paradigm shift in museum design, promoting an environment where cultural history and arts become immersive, accessible, and enriching for visitors with varying sensory perceptions.
