Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated 17 April 2023 11:11:13 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for the following data:
1. List of Mangrove Parks and eco-tourism/recreation in the Philippines; 
2. Updated National Ecotourism Strategy and Action Plan;
3. List of specified plans for mangrove Ecotourism in the Philippines; and
4. List of NGOs related to mangrove Ecotourism 

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. 

We can only provide the existing data of ecotourism sites:
1. List of ecotourism sites in the Philippines which was compiled in 2014 as part of the NESAP 2013-2022;
2. List of 83 Protected Areas (PA) included in the Tourism Development Area.

As to the Updated National Ecotourism Strategy and Action Plan 2023-2028, please be informed that the DOT in partnership with DENR is currently formulating the updated plan which will contain the updated list of ecotourism sites. 

Please note that we are only able to provide some of the information you have requested. The other requests are environment-related so you may wish to directly coordinate with the DENR: https://www.foi.gov.ph/requests?agency=DENR

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with our response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review by writing a letter or email addressed to Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco of the Department of Tourism and sending it through the email address: foi_ro@tourism.gov.ph. Your review request should be made within 15 working days from the date when you received this reply and must provide the reason/s why you are not satisfied. We will complete the review and notify you of the result within 30 working days from the date when we receive your request for review.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
