Hi, I am a marine biology researcher from the University of San Carlos. I would like to ask from one of your humble office specifically the Philippine Commission on Sports SCUBA Diving (PCSSD), if it would be possible to request data with regards to fatalities involved in SCUBA diving. These include information on:
1. Date of Incidence 
2. Province
3. Age
4. Gender
5. SCUBA diving certification/s (Open-water, Advance, Rescue, Master, Instructor)
6.Nationality (Filipino/Foreign

If some of the information are not available. Any information with regards to SCUBA diving fatalities would suffice.

Your Request

You asked for SCUBA Diving Fatalities in the Philippines from 2001 to 2021.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved.

We have enclosed a copy of the report (redacted) on a missing diver in Tubbataha Reef last 2019.

Please note that we can only provide some of the information you requested as this is the only available data involving a fatality in the PCSSD.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with our response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review by writing a letter or email addressed to Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco of the Department of Tourism and sending it through the email address: foi_ro@tourism.gov.ph.
