Your Request

You asked for Technical Manual and Guidelines for a Hotel.

Response to Request

Your FOI request was approved. We enclosed a copy of the information you have requested.

Likewise, please be informed that according to the Department's Standards Monitoring and Enforcement Division (SMED), DOT does not prescribe specific rules or guidelines for hotel building designs.The Architects' and Engineers' designs are based on their client’s preferred theme and/or requirements. However, depending on the location of the hotel, some tourism development plans implemented by the Local Government Units may impose some design restrictions, e.g. maximum height of the building, setbacks, easement, among others. 

Also, with the heightened awareness on sustainability, the Green Building Code may also be a useful reference in developing hotel designs. You may contact the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) thru their website at https://www.dpwh.gov.ph/DPWH/ for more information on the Green Building Code.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat at 351 Sen.
