Greetings!  I’m Ellen Jane Leuterio, sister of the complainant, from Manila City. I would like to follow up on the case against Royal Kites Travel & Tours. This case has been in the process for a while. We are still waiting for immediate action from your good office, the Department of Tourism. 

As her sister/best friend, I’ve seen her dealing with mental health issues narrowly because of this forgoing case. Sleepless nights and anxiety attacks are extensively alarming. Even though I’m irrelevant to the case, I want to support her as she didn’t know I made this request.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, please be informed that complaints or request for investigation, administrative or otherwise, fall under the exemptions to Executive Order No. 2 s. 2016, as such we are constrained to deny your request.

Please be informed that the FOI can only provide available data that are deemed public information; complaints are outside the area of jurisdiction of the FOI.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with our response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review by writing a letter or email addressed to Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco of the Department of Tourism and sending it through the email address: foi_ro@tourism.gov.ph. Your review request should be made within 15 working days from the date when you received this reply and must provide the reason/s why you are not satisfied. We will complete the review and notify you of the result within 30 working days from the date when we receive your request for review.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
