Hi! I'm an undergrad of BS Industrial Engineering and I currently working on my Undergraduate Thesis involving Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) under the Wholesale and Retail Industry. Thus, I would like to request the following data from your good office:
1. List of DTI registered SME (Wholesale and Retail Industry) specifically in CALABARZON (Region IV-A) area only. The list will be as of 2023 or the most recent updated list.
2. The list should preferably include any contact information for the establishment (e.g. email address)
This will be very crucial for my data gathering.

I refer to your letter of Jul 18, 2023 11:20:16 PM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for LIST OF DTI REGISTERED SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISE UNDER WHOLESALE AND RETAIL INDUSTRY (2023).
Relative to your request, please be informed that the registered business is different from the registered Business Name. On business name registration, we don't have list of "Registered Businesses", all we can provide is the list of registered BUSINESS NAMES for sole proprietors with the following information (Registration Date {Ex. Jan. 01, 2015}, Business Name {ABC FOOD CART}, Business Scope Address {REGION 1}, Scope Type {REGIONAL}). Other information such as owner's name and contact details are NOT included.
Also, we would like to inform you that we can only provide data of business names within five years as the validity period of a business name is five years.
Upon generating your request, it will be based on the keywords that you will provide like: (Ex. All registered business names with words "WATER REFILLING STATION") If the said keyword/s is NOT part of their registered business name, it will NOT be included on the generated list.
Please be reminded that NOT all registered business names are operational since we are the first step in the process of business registration, and we don't know if they proceed to the next step to complete the process. Also, DTI Business Name registration is NOT A PERMIT or licensed to engage in any type of business since the permit to operate will be issued with the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU.
For a list of businesses under the partnership and corporations, you may inquire in Securities and Exchange Commissions.
And also, kindly note that we cannot identify if a business name is classified as a small, medium, or large business due to the reason that we don't require the capitalization of a business.
However, if you're looking for the actual list of operating businesses, you may inquire in the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU since they are the ones who issue a business permit to operate.
If you're still interested to proceed with your request for the list of BUSINESS NAMES, please provide a year coverage of your request and the nearest DTI office in your location where you are amenable to pay and pick up the said request. Also, send us a letter of request with a letterhead with your school's logo, address, and contact information.
