May I request the latest DTI list of MSME establishments in the Philippines?
Our company is currently working on a startup called Market Link, a pricing comparison, document management, and energy solutions marketplace that will be beneficial for SMEs. I am the founder of Market Link and would like to reach out to SMEs to get their feedback on the platform and validate if there really is a need for the service that we will be providing.

Dear Steph Deuda,
Relative to your request, please be informed that the registered business is different from the registered Business Name. On business name registration, we don't have list of "Registered Businesses", all we can provide is the list of registered BUSINESS NAMES for sole proprietors with the following information (Registration Date{Ex. Jan. 01, 2015}, Business Name {ABC FOOD CART}, Business Scope Address {REGION 1}, Scope Type{REGIONAL}). Other information such as owner's name and contact details are NOT included.
Upon generating your request, it will be based on the keywords that you will provide like: (Ex. All registered business names with words "WATER REFILLING STATION") If the said keyword/s is NOT part of their registered business name, it will NOT be included on the generated list.
Please be reminded that NOT all registered business names are operational since we are the first step in the process of business registration, and we don't know if they proceed to the next step to complete the process. Also, DTI Business Name registration is NOT A PERMIT or licensed to engage in any type of business since the permit to operate will be issued with the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU.
For a list of businesses under the partnership and corporations, you may inquire in Securities and Exchange Commissions.
And also kindly note that we cannot identify if a business name is classified as a Small, medium, or large business due to the reason that we don't require the capitalization of a business.
However, if you're looking for the actual list of operating businesses, you may inquire in the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU since they are the ones who issue a business permit to operate.
If you're still interested to proceed with your request for the list of BUSINESS NAMES, please provide the year coverage of your request and the nearest DTI office in your location where you are amenable to pay and pick up the said request. Also, fill out the attached FOI form.
