Hi, I am a third-year accountancy student at Holy Angel Univerisity and we are currently working on a research paper entitled "Factors Influencing the Decision to Utilize Domestically Outsourced Accounting Services for Small and Medium Retail Enterprises in Pampanga / Clark". It would be a great help if we could have a copy the list of SMEs from the retail industry to use as our guide for reaching out to potential participants and data collection.

Dear Charlene Joyce,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jan 19, 2024 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Research Paper - Factors Influencing the Decision to Utilize Domestically Outsourced Accounting Serv.

Response to your request

Please be informed that "registered business" is different from "registered Business Name". All we can provide is the number of registered Business Names for sole proprietorship.

Also, DTI Business Name registration is not a permit or license to engage in any type of business since the permit to operate is issued by the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU.

Thus, if you are looking for the actual number and details of operating businesses, you may inquire with the respective Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of concerned LGUs based on your random sampling since they are the ones who issue a business permit to operate.

And also kindly note that we cannot identify if a business name is classified as small, medium or large business due to reason that we don't require the capitalization in the registration of business name.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to <Sec. Alfredo E. Pascual at email secretary@dti.gov.ph>. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,
FOI Receiving Officer
