Dear Rodicindo Rodriguez,
We refer to your letter of Nov 22, 2023 06:22:59 PM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for Business Name Philippines.
Relative to your request, please be informed that the registered business is different from the registered Business Name. On business name registration, we don't have list of "Registered Businesses", all we can provide is the list of registered BUSINESS NAMES for sole proprietors with the following information (Registration Date {Ex. Jan. 01, 2015}, Business Name {ABC FOOD CART}, Business Scope Address {REGION 1}, Scope Type {REGIONAL}). Other information such as owner's name and contact details are NOT included.
Also, we would like to inform you that we can only provide data of business names within five years as the validity period of a business name is five years.
Upon generating your request, it will be based on the keywords that you will provide like: (Ex. All registered business names with words "WATER REFILLING STATION") If the said keyword/s is NOT part of their registered business name, it will NOT be included on the generated list.
Please be reminded that NOT all registered business names are operational since we are the first step in the process of business registration, and we don't know if they proceed to the next step to complete the process. Also, DTI Business Name registration is NOT A PERMIT or licensed to engage in any type of business since the permit to operate will be issued with the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU.
For a list of businesses under the partnership and corporations, you may inquire in Securities and Exchange Commissions.
And also, kindly note that we cannot identify if a business name is classified as a small, medium, or large business due to the reason that we don't require the capitalization of a business.
However, if you're looking for the actual list of operating businesses, you may inquire in the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU since they are the ones who issue a business permit to operate.
If you're still interested to proceed with your request for the list of BUSINESS NAMES, please provide a year coverage of your request and the nearest DTI office in your location where you are amenable to pay and pick up the said request. Also, send us a letter of request with a letterhead with your school's/company name, address, and contact information.

Dear Rodicindo,
I refer to my letter of Nov 24, 2023 about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for Business Name Philippines. In particular, I had requested specific information for you to clarify upon in order for us to proceed with the request.
As we have not received a reply within the 60-day working period since the letter requesting for clarification was sent out, we regret to inform you that this request will be closed as of Feb 16, 2024.
You may wish to submit a new request describing the specific information you are looking for, and we will be able to consider it under the guidelines as stated in Executive Order No. 2.
Your right to request a review
If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to or visiting our central office. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.
If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
