FOI Officer

Dear Ms. Pelayo,

Please be informed that the business name registration division is not responsible for determining the size or category of a business, whether it is small, medium or large. Our role is to register the name of the business and issue a certificate of registration.

If you wish to know the classification of business, you may contact the Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) office. The CMCI is a tool that measures the competitiveness of cities and municipalities in the Philippines based on four pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure and resiliency. The CMCI also provides information on the size and category of businesses in each city or municipality.

You may visit their website at https://cmci.dti.gov.ph/ or call their hotline at (02) 791-3400 for more information.

We hope this clarifies your concern.
