Dear Ms. Pelayo, Please be informed that the business name registration division is not responsible for determining the size or category of a business, whether it is small, medium or large. Our role is to register the name of the business and issue a certificate of registration. If you wish to know the classification of business, you may contact the Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) office. The CMCI is a tool that measures the competitiveness of cities and municipalities in the Philippines based on four pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure and resiliency. The CMCI also provides information on the size and category of businesses in each city or municipality. You may visit their website at https://cmci.dti.gov.ph/ or call their hotline at (02) 791-3400 for more information. We hope this clarifies your concern. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to <Sec. Alfredo E. Pascual at email secretary@dti.gov.ph>. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you. Respectfully, FOI Officer
