March 24, 2023 Dear John Harold, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Mar 24, 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for list of businesses under the hospitality industry (sole prof). Response to your request Kindly be advised that business name registration with the DTI is NOT a permit or a license to engage in any kind of business and that the adoption of the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) in business name registration is solely for the purpose of classifying the primary business activities (product/s handled or service/s rendered) of those business names registered with the DTI. It is not intended to limit the activities of a business. Any business, however, needs to be registered with the Local Government Unit - Business Permit and Licensing Office where the business is located (business address). In this context, we suggest that you contact the Local Government Unit - Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of Malaybalay City for proper assistance. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to <Sec. Alfredo E. Pascual at email secretary@dti.gov.ph>. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you. Respectfully, FOI Receiving Officer
