Foreign policy of the Philippines

Requested from FSI by A. Blinova at 11:07 AM on Mar 31, 2023.

Hi! I study China-Philippines relations in 2016-2022.
I would like to request the foreign policy documents. In China there are White Papers, in the United States they have National Security Strategies, in Russia there are Foreign Policy Concepts. In these documents you can find foreign policy priorities, goals, and most important regions to cooperate with. I was trying to find the information on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines. However, there were no such documents except quite old ones (Constitution, and two bills that do not contain the needed information).

Dear Anna Blinova,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Mar 31, 2023 11:07:51 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Apologies for the long delay. There were some significant technical issues on our end and the FOI portal upgrade.

You asked for foreign policy of the Philippines. However, it was not clear what specific information you are asking for.

We were able to determine that this particular information is already available online. You may retrieve your requested information from the National Security Council here:
https://nsc.gov.ph/index.php/national-security-policy-2011-2016

The National Security Policy document outlines the guiding principles, national interests, and goals aimed at advancing national security, including foreign relations components. There is also a particular section on regional and international peace and stability. Set for a timeframe of five years, from 2023-2028, the new NSP identifies policy objectives and priority areas of the country.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
