Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Nov 24, 2018 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request:

You asked for legal basis of off-site cockpit in the municipality.

Response to your request:

We have initially referred your request to our legal division for comment.  As per legal advice, please be informed that our agency has no jurisdiction over the regulation of local cockfighting.  That authority has been devolved to the LGU's pursuant to Section 447 (3) (v) - as mentioned in your attachments. As this matter is currently subject to legal debate, we suggest that the opinion of the LGU concerned or the DILG be sought for your guidance.
