Hi, I would like to ask about what are the proper procedure/steps and needed documents if we are going to fix a name error on our Land Title. Thank you!

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Nov 23, 2020 06:46:08 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for The process and needed documents for fixing an error on a Land Title.

Response to Request

Presidential Decree (PD) No. 1529, s. 1978 of Section 108 states the following, thus,"Amendment and alteration of certificates. No erasure, alteration, or amendment shall be made upon the registration book after the entry of a certificate of title or of a memorandum thereon and the attestation of the same be Register of Deeds, except by order of the proper Court of First Instance. Xxx"

For further assistance of this Authority, please proceed to the city or provincial registry of deeds which has jurisdiction over your titled property to guide you more of the procedure to undertake per the aforesaid quoted portion of PD 1529.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
