Hi, I would like to know when did this free 3-year LTO registration for new vehicles started and what Order/Law was this in.

Also, what kinds of vehicles are included in this? Are the following vehicles covered by this free 3-year registration?
1. Cars
2. SUVs
3. PUJs
4. Trucks
5. Buses
6. Motorcycles/Tricycles

You asked for Information on the Free 3-Year LTO Registration on New Vehicles.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved.

Please be informed that the LTO has no free registration policy. Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 010-2005 dated 03 January 2005, 3-year initial registration is allowed for brand new motor vehicles, except for motorcycles 200 cc. The payment for the Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC) or registration fee is normally settled by the dealers as package to their clients.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar C. Galvante at lto.cdmpao@gmail.com. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter.
