We need to know if using bar-end side mirrors are allowed by LTO and what are the restrictions/guidelines/laws that we need to follow.

A thread was previously created and was promised to be updated around August but still no news up to this moment.

The 2009-18 ordinance doesn't have any restrictions as to what a side mirror of a motorcycle can be, as long as it allows the driver to clearly recognize traffic condition.

Your Request

You asked for Bar End Side Mirror for Motorcycles.

Response to Request

Please be informed that every category of motor vehicle underwent type approval procedure for safety and compliance standards for road vehicles. The side mirror have a specific placement for every type of vehicle as approved.

Similarly, alteration/ modification of the original manufacturer’s design or placement of any basic and vital parts of the vehicle should have a prior approval from the manufacturer or a certification that the alteration is in compliance to the safety standards.
