Hi, I would like to request information regarding:

1. The number of reported cases of maritime accidents/incidents in the Province of Cebu and in the Southern Cebu (preferably from 2018 up to current date); and

2. Which month/s of the year is/are has/have the most number of cases of maritime accidents/incidents?

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated May 31, 2023 11:23:42 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for the number of reported cases of maritime accidents in the Province of Cebu.

Attached herewith are the detailed reported cases you are requesting. Also, according to our Coast Guard District Central Visayas, it was recorded that the year 2022 has the highest number of maritime incidents/accidents.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to our Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard at email address cgpao@coastguard.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
