Your Request

You asked for The number of reported VAW cases from the year 2021-2023.

Response to Request

We are providing you with the available information on the Reported VAWC cases in the Philippines, which are from the 2021 to the first quarter of 2023, as provided by the Philippine National Police. Please see the attachment in this reply for the file we have received from the mentioned agency.

As of now, PNP is the only source of data on the national incidence of violence against women and has a well-established reporting system through their Crime Information Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS). This electronic system is fully operational in all police stations and community precincts in the country.

As an additional data source, please also check the results of the National Demographic and Health Survey (Violence Against Women Chapter), which you may download from the website of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA): https://psa.gov.ph/content/national-demographic-and-health-survey-ndhs. The PSA also releases the Annual Statistical Fact Sheets on Women and Men in the Philippines, which, among others, contain VAW data: https://psa.gov.ph/gender-stat/wmf.
