Hi, I would like to ask questions regarding PNP's engagement in counterinsurgency.
Do you have offices or desks specifically devoted for counterinsurgency (COIN)?
If you do, on what level (national, regional, provincial, or municipal)?
I would appreciate if you could provide how the structure has changed since 1990s. I know that in 1990s, the main role for COIN was passed to PNP and local police but later passed back to AFP.

Dear Tatsuya Koyama,
Greetings!

Your Request
You asked for Offices, desks specifically devoted for counterinsurgency.
Response to Request
In the national level, we have the PNP Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) with its headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City. PNP SAF operates together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the areas of counterinsurgency and counterterrorism.
For the regional level, we have the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) with its headquarters colocated with the Police Regional Office thereat.
For the provincial and municipal level, we have the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) with its headquarters colocated or near the Provincial Police Office thereat.
RMFB and PMFC provides active support to the AFP in the conduct of Internal Security Operations.
There were no major change in the structure, just change in name such as from Regional Mobile Group (RMG) which was changed to Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) then later to Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB).
