Good day!
I am Ian De Lunas, a 4th year Doctor of Jurisprudence Student from the University of Batangas, and I'm currently doing my thesis or study and its about the need of a cybercrime help desk in correlation to VAWC Desk. I have experienced reporting to our local police station regarding a cybercrime wherein my niece's identity was used in creating a poser account however they referred us to the main department in our region which is in Laguna. This inspired me to have this research or study and for this law to be passed because not everyone has the resources to go to Laguna or it can add burden to the expense of a simple living filipino. With the widespread use of technology wherein it can be used also on such crimes thats why we have the cybercrime prevention act, however as I see it fit. It would be more helpful to have a cybercrime help desk in every city or municipality in the country to further strengthen the protection and for a farther reach to our citizens.
I would correlate this to VAWC desk which was created when the law, Magna Carta for Women was passed then August 2009. I would like to determine the number of cases of VAWC 10years prior its passage and correlate it with the need to create a Cybercrime Help Desk by knowing the total number of cases in our whole country including as to the classification of the kind of cybercrime that was recorded. I would also like to know the classification of the different kinds of cybercrime by the PNP and to further specify for description in my thesis I would also like to know the total number of cases within our region, region 4A. The duration of which would be 2010 until present. I believe that cybercrime is easily done with the advancement of technology and such is just within the grasp of our hands or with just a simple click such crime can be consumated, that is why I really want my research or study to be successful for others to see the importance of having a cybercrime help desk that many filipinos could easily go to for assistance. I truly believe that this research or study of mine would be a great help first to the Philippine National Police, second, to our country Lawmakers, and lastly, for further research and studies by other students.
